Since opening our first Shop Rite location in Crowley, Louisiana, in 1966, we’ve been committed to one simple mission: providing friendly service, quality products, and convenience to the communities we call home.

Founded by John Dan Gielen, Shop Rite began as a single neighborhood convenience store built on hard work, integrity, and a customer-first mindset. Over the decades, that vision grew into the largest independently owned convenience store chain in Louisiana, now proudly serving customers through more than 60 locations and employing over 1,000 team members across the state.

As our company has grown, our commitment has remained the same. Whether you’re fueling up, grabbing a quick meal, shopping for everyday essentials, or supporting one of our community initiatives, our goal is to make every visit fast, friendly, and convenient.

Giving back has always been at the heart of who we are. Through partnerships with organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and countless local community efforts, we’re proud to invest in the people and places that have supported us for nearly 60 years.

Although John Dan Gielen passed away in 2018, his legacy continues to inspire everything we do. Today, his values of faith, humility, service, and putting people first remain the foundation of our company.
